Emergency Plan Creation

Respiratory Protection Program/Fit Testing
COMPLIANCE WITH PEOSHA/OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134L
Respirator fit testing is conducted to ensure that an employee’s respirator fits tightly and properly.
Using the Qualitative Fit Test procedures, a pass/fail process is completed that relies on the employee’s sense of taste, or his/her reaction to a substance (test agent) in order to detect leakage into the respirator facepiece.
For PEOSHA/OSHA compliance, prior to respirator use, employees required to wear a respirator at work must complete a respirator clearance questionnaire to ensure that they are medically able to do so. This questionnaire is then reviewed by and signed off on by a licensed physician.
